Kenneth Gamble was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Leon A. Huff was born in Camden, New Jersey. These songwriting and record production individuals have written and produced 15 gold singles and 22 gold albums which curated the “Philly Sound”. They were pioneers of Philadelphia soul and the in-house creative team for the Philadelphia International Records label. On March 10, 2008, the team was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the non-performer category. Kenneth Gamble continues to write songs every day, collaborating both with his longtime partner, Leon Huff, and with many of the new writers and lyricists of Philadelphia International Records. It’s been said that every 15 minutes, one of their songs is being played somewhere around the world.
