Entertainment News: OJ's Lawyer Clarifies Comments & Megan Talks Health

A lawyer who represented O.J. Simpson, who died from cancer last week at 76, said that the former NFL star’s body will be cremated. The family will have a private celebration of life for friends and loved ones. OJ Simpson had three kids with his first wife, Marguerite Whitley, and two children with his second wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, whom he divorced in 1992. In 1995, Simpson was famously acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. In 1997, in the civil case, OJ was ordered to pay $25 million in punitive damages to the Goldman and Brown families. Since his death, OJ’s executor and lawyer Malcolm LaVern said he wanted to clarify his comments in which he said he didn’t want Goldman’s family to be able to collect any money from Simpson’s estate. “In hindsight, in response to that statement that ‘it’s my hope they get zero, nothing,’ I think that was pretty harsh,” LaVern added. “Now that I understand my role as the executor and the personal representative, it’s time to tone down the rhetoric and really get down to what my role is as a personal representative.”

In other Entertainment News, Megan Thee Stallion is on the cover of Women’s Health Magazine. Megan shared that it’s a struggle to start her workout routine and that she must mentally prepare. Megan said in part, quote, “If I want to be a stallion and not a pony, I got to get up and put in the work.'" Megan goes to Pilates, the gym, or the beach with her trainers four to five days a week. Cardio: 40 minutes on the elliptical, Lower-body: Goblet squats, leg extensions, hip thrusts, and donkey kicks (which she calls "stallion kicks”). Megan’s healthy meals typically include Breakfast: Protein powder smoothies, Lunch: Pan-seared salmon, and Dinner: Fish like cod or sea bass paired with sweet potatoes, kale, tomatoes, or brown rice. Megan also said, "I'm in a space where I feel good mentally, so I want to look as good as I feel.”

Former President Donald Trump's interaction with a Black Woman conservative supporter at a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta, Georgia, last week has gone viral. The woman is a conservative activist and founder of Conserve the Culture, which recruits and educates college students and young alumni at Atlanta’s historically Black colleges and universities. She told the former president: "I don't care what the media tells you, Mr. Trump, we support you!" (end quote). Some of Trump’s outreach to African Americans has played on racial stereotypes — promoting $399 branded sneakers or suggesting that Black people would empathize with his dozens of felony charges. According to The Grio, Trump currently faces charges in Georgia for allegedly interfering with the last presidential election. Trump’s Supreme Court appointees already helped dismantle Affirmative Action and women’s reproductive rights under Roe v. Wade. His other supporters in office have their sights set on undoing voting rights next.
