The Black-ish spinoff has a new name! Grown-ish will follow the Johnson's eldest daughter Zoey on her journey through college. Show creator Kenya Barris says that while Black-ish deals with what it means to be black, Grown-ish "is an examination of what it is and what it means to be grown." Yara Shahidi (Zoey) and Deon Cole (Charlie) were previously casted, while new cast members will include Trevor Jackson (American Crime), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live) and Emily Arlook (The Good Place). Jackson and Parnell will reprise the roles they originally played in the planted spinoff episode of black-ish. Production for Grown-ish begins next month and is scheduled for a 2018 premiere on Freeform and the Freeform app. Black-ish returns to ABC Tuesday October 3rd.
