We lost a lot of people this week Including Abdul Duke Fakir the last surviving member of the Four Tops. Fakir died from Heart Failure earlier this week at the age of 88. Fakir had just retired from the group. The Four tops was known for their Motown Classic songs such as Reach Out, Same Old Song, Ain’t no Woman, Standing in the Shadows of Love, Baby I need your Loving and Many more. Fakir is survived by his wife and 7 children and a host of Grandchildren.
We remember Joe Jellybean Bryant the father of Basketball Legend Kobe Bryant has died at the age of 69 after suffering a massive stroke. Bryant was known for his playing days at Bartram High, Lasalle College plus his days with Sixers, the Rockets and the Clippers. He played overseas in Italy and Spain and once was coach of the WNBA Team the Los Angeles Sparks. His relationship with his famous son was tumultuous at times but there’s no doubt The Elder Bryant raised a spectacular Basketball Star. Prayers go out to the family.
We also remember Comic Legend Bob Newhart. The Actor and Comedienne died this past week at the of 94. Newhart was known for dry legend and the shows The Bob Newhart Show and the movie Elf.
We lost Singer Bernice Johnson Reagon the founder of the women's a capella group Sweet Honey in the Rock. She was 81.
Journalist and Political Contributor for CNN Lou Dobbs also died this past week he was 78.

Harry Williams of Bloodstone fame recently announced his retirement. Williams turned 80 in June, and he announced he would be retiring from the group. Friday August 16th he will be in Philly for his last appearance in the city. The concert is at The Dell Music Center Friday August 16 Also on the bill are Gerald Alston and The Manhattans, Blue Magic and Lenny Williams. Get your tickets.
Also, Happy retirement to Duke Fakir on the original members of The Four Tops is retiring from the group at the age of 88.
Lifetime is coming out with a movie about Famed Psychic Miss Cleo. Call me now was her famous mantra and in the 90’s she was the star of the Psychic Network. Years later the network came under the scrutiny of the FTC and was found to be a fraud and the blame fell on Miss Cleo. She would die of Cancer in 2016. The Rise and Fall of Miss Cleo airs Saturday August 10th on Lifetime. Rapper Lady of Rage is playing Miss Cleo
