Lee Louis Daniels is a film and television producer and director. Daniels produced Monster’s Ball, which made him the first African-American to solely produce an Academy Award-nominated film. He also directed Precious, which received Academy Award nominations, including Best Director and was the creative force behind the hit TV series, Empire, starring Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard. Daniels’ latest project...The United States of America vs Billie Holiday, is streaming now on Amazon Prime, and stars Andra Day, who was the recipient of multiple industry awards for her portrayal of the lead character. Most recently, Daniels received a lifetime achievement here in Philadelphia from Philadanco.
