The Black Panther Party Began 52 Years Ago Today!

Huey Newton and Bobby Seale are the original founder's of the Black Panther Party which began on October 15,  1966.

Black Panther Party originated from Oakland, California and made a lasting impression. "The party’s original purpose was to patrol African American neighborhoods to protect residents from acts of police brutality.", according to www.britannica.com.

At the peak of the  movement in the late 1960s that Panther's membership exceeded 2,000 and the organization operated chapters in several major American cities. They influenced much of the civil right's movement this is where we heard names of Angela Davis, Huey P. Newton, and Bobby Seale.
