Khadijah James, Synclaire James-Jones, Maxine 'Max' Felice Shaw, Overton 'Obie' Wakefield Jones, Regine Hunter, and Kyle Barker are all names that ran bell's in the 90's!
This black version of "Friends" was exactly what the culture needed. This show provided an outlet for women to get answers to questions like "How to have it all", "How to be a successful business woman", "How to a sharp dresser", and most importantly, "How to balance relationships"!
This show wasn't just for the women, the men could sit down for an hour and witness black men on their grind 24/7. Whether it was through handy work or through the means of a traditional 9-5. Other black men could witness what it means to treat a woman as how to balance the struggles of the world.
Let me reiterate: "In living Single, is a staple in the culture"! If your kids don't know about this classic, you must help them out and buy the series to binge! The gems provided will help the youth whether they know it now or not. Believe you me, when they enter the real world, many if not all episodes can be applicable to navigate through life.
This show was the epitome of Black Unity.
Happy Birthday "Living Single" and hopefully I wish to see a reboot in the future!
