National Minority Donor Awareness Week is observed every August but the need for raising awareness is relevant 365 days a year. The goal of this special observance is to increase organ donor registrations among minorities - which make up more than 50 percent of the 115,000 people on the national waiting list for life-saving transplants. Loraine Ballard Morrill hosted a community forum on organ donation sponsored by Gift of Life. Joining her were Kimberlee Mander, Gift of Life Clinical Transplant Coordinator, Ta’Mar Ellsworth (double lung recipient), Timmy Nelson (kidney recipient), Markita Lewis (donor mom)and Ervin Miller (kidney recipient). https://www.donors1.org/
