Loraine Ballard Morrill speaks with Tomika McFadden, Director and Brittney Elliott Assistant Director of Pennsylvania Care Associates, a social services organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities. They discuss the inaugural Pennsylvania Care Health Fest on Saturday, July 29, 2017, 10 am - 8 pm at Malcolm X Park located at 52nd and Pine Streets. This FREE Health Festival and Community will include medical health screenings for glucose/diabetes and blood pressure as well as information on dental resources and eye examinations.
This family friendly affair will also feature: a kids carnival with moon bounces; video game truck and face painting; a seniors lounge with bingo, dominos and healthy refreshments; a cultural diversity market featuring local businesses from across the tri-state region; food trucks; yoga classes, including Trap Yoga; live jazz music starting; an adult game block featuring line dancing and a double dutch competition and more. The event will be hosted by WDAS’ own Patty Jackson, and will include special performances by: Dru Hill, BriaMarie, The Delfonics Revue, Lenny Williams, and Howard Hewitt. Sounds will be provided by DJ Greg Nitty and Power 99’s own DJ RL.
