This Day in Music History: David Ruffin

June 1, 1991: Soul singer David Ruffin died of a drug overdose. After  taking a large amount of cocaine Ruffin passed out... a friend drove him  to a hospital in Philadelphia, where he later died. David Ruffin sang  lead vocals on 'Just My Imagination' and 'My Girl' with The Temptations.  His big solo single was 'Walk Away From Love'.
