 Loraine Ballard Morrill speaks with 17 year old Anthony Rivera.  Last year he received a TD Bank National Liberty Museum Young Hero Award – presented to young people who are making a difference in the world.  Rivera talks about the project that was honored and his ambitions as a young filmmaker.  Rivera also spoke about nominations for the 2017 awards which recognize young people who have championed liberty through their actions.  For more information click here.

Loraine talks with Raymond Alvarez President and Director of La Liga Del Barrio which provides strong mentorship of young people through basketball while also encouraging academics and leadership.

American Heritage Credit Union is sponsoring the 24th Annual Gelatin Olympics.  Slide into 1,000 gallons of strawberry gelatin to raise money for the Kids-N-Hope Foundation, Wednesday, June 14th at 6 pm at Cannstatter’s in Northeast Philadelphia. What better way to honor the lives of our veterans than the Veterans History Project which oral history program that collects and preserves the firsthand interviews of America's wartime veterans. VHP is asking for family members and friends of deceased veterans to contribute to a collection of original photographs, letters, military documents, artwork (two-dimensional), diary or journals to ensure that their veteran’s wartime experiences are not lost to history.  Loraine speaks to Col. Karen D. Lloyd, U.S. Army (Ret.), Director of Veterans History Project of the Library of Congress American Folklife Center.
