February 8, 1975 - 42 Years Ago Today: The Ohio Players went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their single, "Fire." It was their sixth Hot 100 entry and their first No. 1. It was also their second No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart where it enjoyed a two-week run at the top. It was their third single to be certified Gold for one million copies sold.
