Pride of Philly: Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart is an actor, comedian, writer and producer, who was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kevin started his career by entering and winning amateur comedy competitions at clubs throughout New England leading to his first big break in 2001, when he was cast by Judd Apatow for a recurring role on the TV series Undeclared. In addition to his comedy career, Kevin Hart has been featured in hit movies like Think Like a Man, Ride Along & Ride Along 2, Jumanji, The Secret Life of Pets, Night School, About Last Night and Captain Underpants, The Secret Life of Pets 2 and Jumanji 3. He will be appearing in the movie Fatherhood in January 2021.

Kevin Hart has hosted many awards shows, including the 2011 BET Awards, the 2012 MTV Music Video Awards, The 2016 MTV Movie Awards, and three episodes of Saturday Night Live. He has released three films of his stand-up comedy and four comedy albums. Hart has been nominated for many awards and accolades, and won several, including: BET Award in 2012 for Best Actor, 3 NAACP Image Awards, Nickolodeon's Kid's Choice Awards for Grudge Match and The Secret Life of Pets, Teen Choice Awards for Ride Along and Central Intelligence, People's Choice Awards for Central Intelligence and Comedy Act of 2018.
