105.3 WDAS is celebrating Black History Month by shouting out some of our favorite sons and daughters throughout the month of February with The Pride of Philly…some of the biggest names in the world of music, entertainment, politics and the arts that hail from Philly or the surrounding Tri-State area.

FEBRUARY 24, 2022

Jazmine Marie Sullivan is a phenomenal singer, songwriter that hails from the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia, and most recently headlined the WDAS Holiday Jam concert in December of 2021. She’s a 12 time Grammy nominee whose 2008 debut release Fearless topped the Billboard Hip Hop & R&B charts, and was certified GOLD by the Recording Industry Academy of America. She has since released 3 other albums, with her latest, ‘Heaux Tales’ debuting at #1 on the Billboard R&B charts in January of 2021 and winning both the BET Awards and Soul Train Awards, ‘Album Of The Year’. She’s written chart topping songs for the likes of Mary J. Blige and her monster single, ‘Pick Up Your Feelings’ can still be heard on countless radio stations across the country. Sullivan just started her first nationwide headlining tour this past week, and comes back to Philly on March 18th.
