Aretha Franklin was forced to cancel a few of her upcoming performances. According to Page Six, Franklin's management team released a statement Friday that her doctor ordered her to "stay off the road and rest completely for at least the next two months." The singer had to cancel her March 25th performance at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center as well as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 28th.
The Queen of Soul had just announced plans to retire last year, still planning to perform at "some select things."
The statement revealed that Franklin is "extremely disappointed she cannot perform as she had expected and hoped to."
Whatever the medical concerns, we wish Aretha a speedy recover to finish out her career strong!
