The newest name to join this list...Quinta Brunson is a West Philadelphia native who is the creator, executive producer, writer and star of the new ABC comedy Abbott Elementary...based on a school here in Philadelphia...which has been deemed as a runaway hit by critics all across the country. Brunson gained prominence via her Instagram series...’Girl Who Has Never Been On A Nice Date’ and starred in the first series of the Issa Rae executive produced ‘Black Lady Sketch Show’. She is a graduate of Charter High School for Architecture and Design, and also attended Temple University. She’s also an author as her book, ‘She Memes Well’ was released in June of 2021
