The recent shakeup at the ABC daytime talker The View could lead to the return of Rosie O’Donnell. Rosie was originally on the 2006-2007 season, but she proved to be too controversial and left after only one year. Now with the departures of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, Rosie may be back. I am also hearing that a man may be added to the cast. Whoopi Goldberg stays. If they bring Rosie back, will she and Whoopi blend together? I am also hearing talks that Laila Ali may be added to the cast. What is the future for the once popular show? Barbara Walters and longtime Executive Producer Bill Geddie are no longer with the show, so what will happen next?

Angela Bassett is busy at work as director of the Whitney Houston Lifetime movie. In a recent interview, Bassett talked about the casting for the movie. Model/Actress Ya Ya De Costa will be playing Houston in the movie. Bassett talked about not casting Houston's daughter Bobbi Kris. Bassett said Bobbi Kris is not an actress and an actress to pull this role off. Bobbi Kris responded angrily via social media calling Bassett a man. Bobbi Kris has since apologized to Bassett for those hurtful comments.

Disney Star Zendaya Coleman has backed of the Lifetime-Aaliyah project. Coleman cited the controversy surrounding the project. I hear a young actress singer named Erika Perry may be stepping into the role. The family of Aaliyah is against the movie project, and they won’t release the rights to the late singer's music. There is also the R Kelly angle. You cannot tell the story of Aaliyah without telling the story of her marriage to Kelly. She married him when she was 15 and he was 27. Aaliyah's family is still embarrassed about this incident since it happened under their watch. They don’t want these memories brought back up.

The BET Awards will be re-airing on Saturday night at 8pm. I loved this years show! Chris Rock was the man! He was so funny and truly commanded the night. We remember Meshach Taylor. The actor was best know for his Emmy nominated role as “Anthony” in the CBS sitcom Designing Women. He also spent four seasons with with Night Court's Harry Anderson in another CBS sitcom Dave's World. Taylor was last seen in the drama Criminal Minds, which aired back in January. Taylor died of cancer and was 67-years old.

We also remember the Soul Music Legend Bobby Womack. The man known as "The Poet" passed away last week, but he leaves an incredible career behind. Beginning with his brothers as The Valentinos, the group was signed and mentored by the late great Sam Cooke. Womack embarked on a solo career after Cooke's death. Besides laying out a string of hits for himself (Lookin' For A Love; I Can Understand It; Woman's Gotta Have It; If You're Think You're Lonely Now; Check It Out), he was a prolific writer and guitarist for other legends like Aretha Franklin (I'm In Love), Wilson Pickett (I'm A Midnight Mover) and George Benson (Breezin'). Bobby Womack earned the nicknames "Preacher" and "Poet" for his no holds barred approach to singing and songwriting and particularly after his amazing career comeback in the 1980's. Bobby Womack was 70-years old.

Get ready for a reunion of the 80’s hit TV sitcom A Different World. Oprah has most of the original cast for a future episode of Where Are They Now on OWN. A Different World Producer/Director Debbie Allen was instrumental in helping Winfrey with the reunion. That's because Allen is trying to bring the show back to TV. Allen says while she has the support of the show's original Creator and Co-Owner, Bill Cosby, she's still trying to get a network on board. The ground-breaking sitcom about life at a (fictional) historically black college was a spinoff of The Cosby Show, and was a top-five ratings hit for the majority of its run on NBC from 1987-1992.
