Columbus Short is no longer on Scandal. The actor was fired last week after his private life became a public scandal. What will the actor do now? Sources say he wants to embark on a recording career. Short moved out of the home he shares with his wife Tuere after she filed a restraining order against him. The order alleges that he threatened to kill her and himself, and then slashed her tires. This is the second domestic violence accusation against Short toward Tuere. Short is still facing domestic violence and child abuse charges from the first incident. He did catch a break when a man he allegedly knocked out at a restaurant refused to press charges. Tuere Short has filed for divorce and is seeking custody of the couple's two-year old daughter.



Pebbles is mad, and she’s suing VH1! The VH1 network produced the highly rated TV movie about the group TLC. TLC was the top grossing female act of the 90’s. Pebbles was the group's manager and she feels the movie portrayed her a dishonest businessperson. She is suing the network for $40 million.



Who is the man that Debbie Rowe is marrying? Michael Jackson's ex wife has found love. Rowe is engaged to be married, but did she know her new man, Music Producer Marc Shaffel, performed in movies….as in gay porn movies!!!!!!! Shaffel has an interesting past. He is a former videographer who worked at Neverland. Shaffel has sued The King Of Pop in the past. Jackson fired Shaffel over his scandalous past. Shaffel says he loves Rowe, and he has kept no secrets from her. He also says he is a changed man, but Rowe still knows everything. Rowe went public about wanting her kids back that she had with Jackson (Prince and Paris), but she better watch her money with this new man.



There are big changes at Ebony magazine. Amy Barnett DuBois is out and former SET and HONEY magazine Editor Mitzi Miller is in. Miller was once the Editor In Chief at Jet magazine, Ebony's sister publication.



The BET network has announced their programming for the upcoming year. Many of your favorite show are returning including The Game, The Real Husbands Of Hollywood, all of their award shows and brand new programming including a world premiere miniseries, The Book of Negros, and a new reality show starring Kirk Franklin. Franklin will help aspiring gospel artists build and start their careers.



Nia Long, 43, is featured in the naked issue of Allure magazine, and, yes, she is naked and fabulous. The Best Man Holiday and Single Moms Club star appears with a host of other celebrities as they celebrated naked beauty.



We Remember Actor Bob Hoskins. The British born actor died of pneumonia and he also suffered from Parkinson's disease. Though he had a storied film and stage career, Hoskins is best remembered for the blockbuster film Who Framed Roger Rabbit? He also co-starred with Denzel Washington in Heart Condition and Super Mario Bros. Hoskins was 71.



We also remember DJ EZ Rock. He, along with Rob Base, had the 1988 It Takes Two. EZ Rock's real name Rodney Bruce, and he died at 46-years old.



Get ready for Grease: The Musical on TV. FOX is developing the adaption for TV. movie musical for TV and it will air next year. A lot of people are wondering if Actor Zac Efron (High School Musical) will put on his musical skills for this production.

The Apollo Theatre is getting ready to celebrate its 80 birthday! Wayne Brady is going to be hosting the ceremony 80 Years At The Apollo Theatre on Tuesday, June 10th. Special guests that night include Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole and The Isley Brothers.



Tony Nominations were announced this week. While it was good news for the Broadway revival of A Raisin In The Sun, the news was not good for its Oscar winning Star Denzel Washington, who didn’t get a nod. Washington's castmembers did get nominated including LaTaya Richardson-Jackson, Sophie Okonedo and Anika Noni Rose. A Raisin in the Sun was also nominated for Best Revival Of A Play and Best Director (Kenny Leon). Denzel Washington made a special return to Broadway to star in this new revival.



In other Denzel news, his new movie, The Equalizer, is set for a September 26th release. The movie is based on the Emmy-nominated 80's TV drama that starred Edward Woodward as the ex-intelligence agent turned vigilante on the side of the underdog. In this big screen update, Washington reunites with Director Antoine Fuqua, who helmed Washington's Oscar winning performance in Training Day. Washington is now on Broadway in A Raisin In The Sun. President & Mrs. Obama attended one of the performances and went back stage with the cast. I'm hearing that Washington may be returning to Philadelphia to film a new M. Night Shyamalan movie this fall.




Director John Singleton has just signed on to direct a new show for the Showtime cable network. It’s a drug drama set in the 1980’s called Snowfall. The show is a cross between Boyz In The Hood meets The Wire.



Cuba Gooding, Jr.'s wife Sara is divorcing him after three kids and 20 years of marriage, and now the groupies are coming forward with stories of his drinking, cheating and drugging. The Oscar winner had no comment on the allegations, but he is known as a womanizer. Gooding is next set to star in the miniseries Book Of Negroes on BET.



What is going on with Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston? The Florida State quarterback and future NFL star was arrested earlier this week for stealing crab legs from a grocery story!!!! Winston and his team won the BCS National Championship in January over the Auburn Tigers. Winston is no stranger to controversy. Rape charges were dropped against him for lack of evidence involving a student at Florida State.



Patti LaBelle is returning to Broadway. The musical After Midnight is up for 7 Tony Awards, and Patti joins the show for the month of June ( the 10th through the 29th). Patti's fellow R&B Legends Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole will also be joining the production (Gladys Knight: July 8th-Aug 3rd and Natalie Cole: August 5-31st). After Midnight is a musical is about The Duke Ellington years at The Cotton Club in Harlem. Past performers in the musical include Fantasia, K.D. Lang, Vanessa Williams, Toni Braxton and Babyface.



Kevin Hart is gearing up for the promotion of Think Like A Man Too. “Nephew” opens up in the new issue of GQ magazine. He talks about fame and getting along with his ex-wife.



Wendy Williams is truly The Queen Of All Media. Her new book, Hold Me In Contempt, is topping the best sellers' list. Williams is coming to Philly to co-host FOX29’s Good Day Philadelphia on May 9th.



Andre 3000 of Outkast hits the big screen in the Jimi Hendrix bio movie All Is By My Side. The movie about the legendary guitarist rock pioneer opens in theatres June 13th.



Get ready for the return of Star Wars with the original cast returning, but where's Lando?!!! This installment will take place 30 years after the plot line from Return Of The Jedi, and now Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will be joining a cast of newcomers including Black British Actor John Boyega. JJ Abrams, who previous directed the latest Star Trek movies, is helming this picture. The movie hits theatres December 2015. At press time, Billy Dee Williams, who did a tribute to Star Wars during his Dancing With The Stars stint, has not been seen or confirmed with the cast. Williams did say he was opened to return to the role of “Lando Calrission,” if he's asked.




Get ready for Keke Palmer the talk show host! At 20-years old, she is going to be the youngest talk show host ever. Palmer is best known for the movies Madea's Family Reunion, Akeelah And The Bee and TV's True Jackson, VP and VH1's TV movie Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story where she played Chilli. Palmer's latest movie is Brotherly Love which was filmed in Philadelphia. Judge Greg Mathis and his team are producing Palmer's talk show, which will focus on pop culture, social issues and celebrity interviews. The Keke Palmer Project debuts on BET this summer.





Good Morning America News Anchor Robin Roberts has written a new book called Everybody's Got Something. It's a memoir from the journal she kept during her battle against her MDS diagnosis and her treatment. Roberts says when she rereads the book, it makes her appreciate how strong and healthy she is today.



Speaking of the GMA anchor, Roberts and Singer Justin Timberlake will be appearing with Oprah Winfrey on OWN's Masterclass. Also coming to OWN is Oscar Winner Octavia Spencer starring in the miniseries Tulsa, and Singer Toni Braxton starring in the original bio-pic about Singer/Actress Darlene Love. Love is best known as playing Danny Glover's wife in the Lethal Weapon movies, but she is a well known background singer who got her acclaim later in her career. She is also one of the singers profiled in the Academy Award-winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom. Finally, returning to OWN as well is the new season of the Tyler Perry sitcom For Better Or Worse with Michael Jail White and Tasha Smith.



Maxwell is going on a 37-city summer tour. He is coming to the area Wednesday, July 16th at the Sands Bethlehem Center Casino in Bethlehem, PA.



Prince is back with Warner Bros after a legal battle that went on for years. Prince and Warner Bros have entered into a global licensing partnership. Prince has just released new music, and it’s the 30th anniversary of his smash hit soundtrack Purple Rain.



Fantasia is part of The Dell Music Center's Summer 2014 season. Everything kicks off Thursday, July 10th with The O’Jays and Will Downing. Will is also back with a new project called Euphoria. His stop at the Dell is part of his summer tour promoting the CD. Some of the artists scheduled to perform at the Dell include Roberta Flack, Peabo Bryson, Dru Hill, The Bar-Kays, Lakeside, L.T.D., Lenny Williams, The Average White Band and Larry Graham & Graham Central Station on The Masters Of Funk show. Tyler Perry teams up with Oscar Winner Ben Affleck in the movie Gone Girl, which opens in theatres October 3rd. Perry also is coming out with a new Medea project. Tyler Perry's latest stage play, Madea And The Neighbors From Hell is out on DVD and Blu Ray.



Saturday Night Live is gearing up for their 40th anniversary celebration. Next year, NBC will air a special anniversary show. Some of the biggest names in entertainment have come out of SNL, including Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray Chevy Chase, Adam Sandler, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tracy Morgan, Mike Myers, David Spade, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtain,Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and Chris Rock, to name a few. Now the big question will Eddie Murphy show up? Since he left the cast, he last appeared when 30 years ago as host when the first Beverly Hills Cop came out. He has not returned since, and Murphy is arguably the NBC show's most successful alumnus.



Speaking of NBC, the star of the network's all-time biggest hit is being saluted. Bill Cosby is being honored at the American Comedy Awards. The Cosby Show star is getting The Johnny Carson Award For Comedic Excellence. Besides being a frequent Tonight Show visitor, Cosby was a regular guest host for Carson for close to 20 years. The American Comedy Awards airs Thursday, May 8th on NBC.



At the movies, it's Taraji P. Henson stars in From The Rough. A true story about an African American female coach who lead a men's golf team co-starring the late Michael Clarke Duncan in one of his last roles.



At the movies this week, get ready for The Amazing Spiderman 2 starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone & Jamie Foxx as the villain “Electro.” Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar are all on the soundtrack with Pharrell doubling as producer.



Also in theatres, it’s the Bishop TD Jakes' faith based movie Heaven Is For Real. The story of a young pastor's son whose near death experience has seemed to send him to heaven. Greg Kinnear and Thomas Haden Church star.



Plus, Marlon Wayans stars in A Haunted House II. This sequel to the surprise 2013 hit co-stars Kim Whitley, Jamie Pressly, Affion Crockett, Cedric The Entertainer and Essence Atkins.



The story of Soul Train is headed to Broadway. Talks are underway now about bringing the iconic story of the classic TV dance show to the Great White Way.



Speaking of Soul Train, Author Nelson George has already released a new book about the show. The Hippest Trip In America: Soul Train And The Evolution Of Culture And Style, is out now. George's previous books included Where Did Our Love Go: The Rise And Fall Of Motown; Hip Hop America and The Death Of Rhythm And Blues. The Soul Train book is a fond look back on the record breaking music program that enjoyed a 35-year run through soul, disco, new jack, rap, neo-soul and hip hop.




The Made In America music festival is also returning to Philadelphia on Labor Day Weekend August 30th and 31st. Tickets are on sale now. There's also an L.A. Made In America in the works as well. Meanwhile, the documentary about the first Made In America concert is available now on DVD.



Barbara Walters is planning on retiring from TV and when she leaves her daytime talker The View. All 11 formers co-hosts of the show will be joining Walters for a special send off on May 15th. Meredith Vieira. Star Jones, Joy Behar, Debbie Matenopoulos, Lisa Ling, Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be joining Whoopi Goldberg, Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd for the celebration.

The movie opens in theatres August 1st. That's the same date Get On Up, the life story of James Brown, opens. Get On Up stars Chadwick Boseman, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Tika Sumpter, Dan Aykroyd and Jill Scott.





The new season of BET’s Comic View kicks off Tuesday, May 6th with new host Comedienne Sommore.



Oscar Winner Halle Berry has a new TV drama coming out in July. Extant is a sci-fi series produced by Steven Spielberg. Extant premieres July 9th on CBS.






The 2014 Billboard Music Awards air Sunday, May 18th on ABC. Pharrell Williams, Beyonce, Jay-Z, R Kelly and Robin Thicke are up for awards.




The 7th Annual Roots Picnic is happening Saturday, May 31st at the Festival Pier on Penn's Landing. Hosted by The Roots, who are the House Band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Roots Picnic lineup includes Snoop Dogg, Janelle Monae and Jhene Aiko.



Speaking of The Roots, Questlove inducted his fellow Philadelphians Hall & Oates into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Daryl Hall and John Oates are singer/songwriter/musicians who enjoyed a string of successes that eventually made them music's most successful performing duo. Their songs include Sara Smile, Rich Girl, Kiss Is On My List, Private Eyes, Maneater and I Can't Go For That (No Can Do). The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony airs Saturday, May 31st at 9pm on HBO.
