More drama in the Jackson family! After losing the legal fight against concert promoters AEG Live, Katherine Jackson is feeling the pressure from her sons Jermaine and Randy. The Jackson family lost millions of dollars in their lawsuit fight. Jermaine and Randy were hoping their mother would win the case so they could get the money. At 83, how much more can Katherine take? Jermaine was so sure she would win the case, he went out a got a new car: a Ferrari that cost over $160,000. Katherine was furious because Jermaine has failed to pay his child support, and he recently had his pay garnished. Many feel pressure is being put on Katherine to get money for her sons because they were left out of Michael's will, and they have no money of their own.
It’s a boy for Halle Berry and her husband, French Actor Olivier Martinez. Maceo-Robert Martinez was born last weekend. Halle has a five-year old daughter, Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. Last Thanksgiving, Aubry was beaten up badly by Berry's husband. Will the two be able to make their families work? Berry will be returning to TV next summer in a new CBS drama. The show is called Extant, and Berry will play an astronaut who returns to her family changed after a year alone in space. Steven Spielberg is one of the producers of the show.
Lauryn Hill is out of jail. She completed a three-month sentence for tax evasion. A judge recently granted Hill permission to go on the road. Hill is planning a mini-tour so she can have money for her six children. Then she will resume house arrest for three months at the
first of the year.
One of the hottest new talents in Hollywood has to be Actress Nicole Beharie. She played Mrs. Rachel Robinson, the wife of Jackie Robinson in the movie 42. She is also the star of the FOX drama hit Sleepy Hollow, which airs Monday nights at 9pm.
BeBe Winans is teaming up with his brothers for a new project which is due out at the beginning of the year.
Queen Latifah’s new daytime talker is turning out to be quite a success. Early ratings show Latifah winning in her time slots. This has been quite a year for Latifah. In addition to her launching a talk show, co-produced by Will & Jada Pinkett Smith, she has been taking care of her mother Rita, who is battling cancer. Latifah's show airs locally at 3pm on CBS3.
Actor Michael Ealy (Think Like A Man, Barbershop) is returning to TV in the cop-drama Almost Human. It premieres November 4th on FOX. Ealy is returning to the big screen next year in two projects with Comedian Kevin Hart: About Last Night on opening on Valentine's Day with Joy Bryant & Regina Hall and Think Like A Man Part II with Gabrielle Union & Taraji P. Henson hitting theatres next June.
Speaking of Kevin Hart, he returns with The Real Husbands Of Hollywood on BET
on October 15th. Hart is on a roll!. He just signed a deal with ABC to develop a pilot based on his life as standup comedian and divorced father, and he has another new movie for 2013, Ride Along with Ice Cube and Tika Sumpter, coming out in theatres in January.
Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King will be hosting Black Girls Rock Sunday, November 3rd on BET.
How would you like Beyonce all-year long? Beyonce is releasing her first ever 12-month calendar on the October 15th.
The TV One network is the new home of The NAACP Image Awards. The show will make its TV One premiere in February.
Shakeups on the The Arsenio Hall Show. Arsenio, which airs locally at 11pm on MyPHL 17, has seen a slip in the ratings, so the executive producer has been let go. The show is not doing bad, but Hall feels with a new executive producer, the show can grow.
Mariah Carey is making changes in her inner circle. She recently named her former Producer Jermaine Dupri as her new manager. Carey had most of her success with Dupri. Dupri is known as being a super-producer, but since his relationship with Janet Jackson fell apart, his hit records have dried up. Can reuniting with Carey spell a comeback for both?
Star Jones is in talks to return to TV in a new daytime talker. Sources say she would be part of a group of experts talking legal issues.

Actress Viola Davis has been added to the cast of the new James Brown movie
Get On Up. Davis will play the role of Brown's mother, and Chadwick Boseman of the hit movie 42 will play The Godfather Of Soul. Filming started a few weeks ago in Mississippi.
Get ready for the return of Mo'Nique. Yes! The Oscar winning comedienne is returning to TV in a daytime syndicated talk show on ABC. Mo'Nique was last on TV in her 2011 late night talk show on BET. She won an Oscar in 2009 for her supporting role in the movie Precious. Word has it the show could debut next September (2014). Since her abrupt departure from BET, Mo'Nique has been plotting her comeback. She has lost a lot of weight and has adopted a healthier lifestyle.
Babyface and Toni Braxton are headed to Broadway next spring in the Wynton Marsalis production After Midnight. The musical is about the Harlem Renaissance and The Cotton Club and includes many top name musicians coming in and out of the production. This will be Babyface's Broadway debut. Toni Braxton has performed on Broadway before in Beauty & The Beast and Aida. Braxton and Babyface will be in the musical March 18-30th for a limited run. Their new duet CD, Love Marriage and Divorce, is
coming out in December, and Babyface is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame this week. After Midnight debuts on Broadway with Fantasia November 3rd. Toni Braxton is also writing her memoirs the book Unbreak My Heart is coming out February 2014

We are getting ready for the movie The Best Man Holiday. The stars of the movie are on the cover of the latest edition of Ebony Magazine. Robin Thicke and Arsenio Hall are scheduled to be guests on Oprah Winfrey's Next Chapter on her OWN cable channel. Robin Thicke is riding high with the summer's biggest song, Blurred Lines, and touring, and Arsenio is enjoying high ratings with the revival of his late night talk show. Thicke will be on OWN's Next Chapter October 13th, and Hall will be on the 20th.
The Butler is coming to OWN. The Lee Daniels movie starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey debuts on OWN in 2017 after its pay cable run. Oprah snatched up the rights to the $100 million plus box office hit to add to her OWN cable station's continuing success.
