The Jacksons have been handed a loss in court. In a wrongful death civil suit, concert promoter AEG Live was accused by the estate of the late Michael Jackson of negligence in the hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray is currently serving 4 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the death of The King Of Pop. The suit, which was headed by Jackson's mother Katherine on behalf of the estate of her son, was to established how much responsibility AEG must take for Jackson's death. A jury rejected the idea that Dr. Murray was incompetent and therefore released AEG from accountability for Murray's actions. Mom
Katherine told reporters she was OK after hearing the jury's verdict clearing AEG Live.
In more Jackson news, Janet is getting ready for motherhood. At 47, the pop star is looking into adopting two children from the Middle East. Jackson has been keeping a low profile since her marriage to Wissam Al Mana, a billionaire businessman who himself is from the Middle East.
Get ready for the return of Mo'Nique. Yes! The Oscar winning comedienne is returning to TV in a daytime syndicated talk show on ABC. Mo'Nique was last on TV in her 2011 late night talk show on BET. She won an Oscar in 2009 for her supporting role in the movie Precious. Word has it the show could debut next September (2014). Since her abrupt departure from BET, Mo'Nique has been plotting her comeback. She has lost a lot of weight and has adopted a healthier lifestyle.
Reverend Run is going to be a grandpa! The star of Run's House and former RUN DMC member's daughter Vanessa is expecting her first child. Vanessa is having a baby with her boyfriend Mike Wayans, the son of Comedian Damon Wayans. Vanessa says her dad is 100% supportive, even though she was nervous about telling him she was unmarried and pregnant.
Babyface and Toni Braxton are headed to Broadway next spring in the Wynton Marsalis production After Midnight. The musical is about the Harlem Renaissance and The Cotton Club and includes many top name musicians coming in and out of the production. This will be Babyface's Broadway debut. Toni Braxton has performed on Broadway before in Beauty & The Beast and Aida. Braxton and Babyface will be in the musical March 18-30th
for a limited run. Their new duet CD, Love Marriage and Divorce, is coming out in December, and Babyface is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame October 10th. After Midnight debuts on Broadway with Fantasia November 3rd.
Tyra Banks is suing ten wig companies for using her likeness, photos and name without her permission. Banks says others have been making millions by using her image and her trademark.
Hot Couple Alert with a dash of Cougar power: Actress Sanaa Lathan and San Francisco 49ers' Quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Lathan, 42, is one of the stars of the new movie Best Man Holiday, which opens in theatres November 15th with Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Nia Long, Harold Perrineau, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Taye Diggs. Lathan is also part of the Best Man Holiday dual covers of November's Ebony magazine. The men are on one cover and the ladies another. But, back to cougar power: is Lathan following in the footsteps of Actress Kerry Washington by hooking up with a hot NFL player from San Francisco? Washington, 36, married 49ers Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, 32, in a secret wedding this past summer. Lathan and Kaepernick, 25, have been all over social media on what looks like a date night pics.

Robin Thicke and Arsenio Hall are scheduled to be guests on Oprah Winfrey's Next Chapter on her OWN cable channel. Robin Thicke is riding high with the summer's biggest song, Blurred Lines, and touring, and Arsenio is enjoying high ratings with the revival of his late night talk show. Thicke will be on OWN's Next Chapter October 13th, and Hall will be on the 20th.
Speaking of Robin Thicke, the man he's been wrangling with legally, Marvin Gaye, III, the son of the late Motown legend, is ill. He is suffering from kidney failure and is in need of a transplant. Gaye is part of a legal battle on behalf of the estate of his father with
Robin Thicke as to the similarities between Thicke's 2013 Blurred Lines and Gaye's 1977 classic Got To Give It Up.
During his recent appearance on Dr. Phil, Rapper DMX revealed a lot, including the fact that child number 12 is on the way. He has 11 children and he owes over a million dollars in back child support. During the interview, DMX said he only smokes weed and drinks alcohol and no longer does cocaine or crack.
The Butler is coming to OWN. The Lee Daniels movie starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey debuts on OWN in 2017 after its pay cable run. Oprah snatched up the rights to the $100 million plus box office hit to add to her OWN cable station's continuing success.

NeNe Leakes kicked off her spinoff I Dream Of NeNe to good ratings on the Bravo network. She is sporting a new look. In addition to two nose jobs and dental work, Leakes has had lipo on her chin, botox on her forehead, and she is wearing long hair. Leakes spinoff focuses on her re-marriage to first husband Gregg and the battles with his friends and the bridal party.
The Reverend Al Sharpton is ready to tell all in his new autobiography The Rejected Stone. Sharpton, 59, will talk about his rise from being a New York street activist and preacher to political candidate and civil rights spokesman. Sharpton will be appearing at the Keswick Theatre Thursday, October 10th. The Rejected Stone comes out October 8th.

Season 5 of The Voice kicked off this week, and one of the highlights from the new season is local resident Matthew Shuler. Shuler is the 20-year old grandson of Bishop Alden A. Gaines of Consolation Baptist Church. He is an amazing singer, and he made history this past week on the show. All the judges, Christina, Adam, Blake and Cee-Lo, wanted him, but he picked Christina Aguilera. Will Matthew Shuler go on to win the show? The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
Singer Ruben Studdard is the newest member of TV's The Biggest Loser. He now
weighs 462 pounds, and his weight is a matter of health. Studdard will soon turn 35-years old and knows the future is bleak without serious weight loss. When he last topped the scales at over 450 pounds, he exercised, became a vegan and that helped. But, when he
couldn't keep the weight off, the one time American Idol champion began looking for a permanent solution of hard work and dedication. The Biggest Loser's season premiere is October 8th on NBC.

The movie will also star Regina King, Sydney Mikayla, Natalie Hawkins and S. Epatha Merkerson. The Gabby Douglas Story is slated to premiere on Lifetime in 2014.
