Baby news! Reality Star Evelyn Lozada is six months pregnant. After her short, disastrous marriage to Chad Ochocinco Johnson, Lozada has moved on with her life. Now, she is having the baby she's wanted for years. Lozada, 37, already has a 20-year old daughter but wanted to
experience motherhood again. Word has it the father is Major League Baseball's Carl Crawford, who just signed a $172 million deal with the L.A. Dodgers. Crawford is 32 years old, and he just had a baby with another woman earlier this year. When Lozada was asked how she kept her pregnancy her secret, she said she stayed in the house and minded her own business.


Congrats to Basketball Legend Michael Jordan he and wife Yvette Prieto are expecting their first child together. This will be his fourth. Jordan has three from his first marriage to Juanita. Jordan, 50, married his second wife Prieto, 34, earlier this year in a lavish ceremony.

Former Living Single and Facts Of Life Star Kim Fields is a mommy again at 44. The actress gave birth to her second son Quincy, who joins 6-year old brother Sebastian. Kim and her husband Christopher Morgan are profiled in People magazine about their struggle to add a second child to their family.

Beyonce's dad and his babymomma are goin' through it. Alexsander Wright, 42, had an affair with Matthew Knowles while he was still married to Tina Knowles, and that affair resulted in the two having a son. Knowles divorced Tina, married Gena Avery, but was ordered to pay child
support for his son with Wright. Published reports say Knowles missed two installments. Wright says she's owed $24,000. Is the 62-year old Knowles a deadbeat dad?


Tamar Braxton is topping her spectacular year (a new baby, awards, two albums, talk show and reality show) with a new relationship book. The book, Love And War, is co written with her husband and Manager Vince Herbert.

Gladys Knight is coming to OWN. Knight is getting a reality show that will debut in late December on Oprah Winfrey's cable network. The show will focus on The Empress Of Soul as a wife, mother, grandmother, actress, businesswoman, and of course, legendary singer.

Speaking of OWN, Oprah's Next Chapter features Idris Elba (Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom), Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) and Ebony magazine's December coverman Chiwetel Eijofor (12 Years A Slave). Oprah sits down with the three very in demand actors this Sunday at 9pm. Meanwhile, Elba is off the dating market because he and longtime girlfriend, Hair & Makeup Artist Naiyana Garth, are planning wedding dates as they prepare to welcome their first child. The actor has a daughter from a previous marriage. Beside playing Nelson Mandela in  A Long Walk To Freedom, Elba is featured as one of the Sexiest Men Alive in People magazine along with Songwriter/Producer/Singers Bruno Mars and Pharrell Williams.

Beyonce's Mrs. Carter Tour stopped in L.A., and comedian Kevin Hart was in the audience. When the Love On Top singer spotted the funny man in the audience, they both had fun with Hart acting like the ultimate fan, and Beyonce rewarded him for his loyalty. The video is a viral sensation, so don't be surprised if it tuns up on TV sometime soon.

After a period of mourning, filming will resume on the latest installment of The Fast And The Furious. Last weekend, the movie's franchise star, Actor  Paul Walker, died at the age of 40 in a horrific car crash. Walker was burned alive. Walker's friend, Roger Rodas, who was
driving, also died. The crash was ruled an accident, and blood and toxicology results have not come back yet. Producers are still deciding on what direction to go in following Walker's death during the current shutdown on production. This is the seventh installment of the hit move series, and is slated to hit theatres in the summer of 2014.

Sam Champion of Good Morning America (GMA) has left the building. The popular weatherguy had been with ABC News for 25 years, and was a high profile part of the top rated morning show led by Anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. Champion will now head up a new morning show on the Weather Channel starting at the beginning of the year. I hear talks with GMA broke down when Champion could not get what he wanted in his contract.

Kem is coming to Philly on Thursday, December 19th. He will be performing in the Christian worship service at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2800 Cheltenham Avenue. It’s a free event and doors open at 6pm. Worship service starts at 6pm. Kem is promoting his holiday CD, What Christmas Means. That CD, which is out now, includes Kem with Patti LaBelle and Ronald Isley on the song Jesus.

Prince will be headlining the 20th Annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans July 4th -6th next year.

When love its love its love! Terrence Howard is on a roll: a hit move and a new marriage. Yes, The Best Man Holiday star has gotten hitched again. The third time is the charm for the 44-year old and his Canadian wife Miranda. The lovebirds have only known each other a month.

Hot on the heels of The Best Man Holiday success, Writer/Director Robert Townsend is ready to bring a sequel to another classic movie. 1991's Five Heartbeats was directed and co-written by Townsend, and he says he's ready to bring the story of the five-man R&B group's rough rise to success back to the big screen. The original movie co-starred Leon, Michael Wright, Harry J. Lennix and Tico Wells.

Get ready for a Best Man III! The movie Best Man Holiday, the long-awaited sequel to 1999's The Best Man, opened big. To date, Holiday has made over $70 million since its opening weekend. The movie cost $17 million to make and has turned a tidy profit very quickly. Writer/Director Malcolm Lee is already in talks to continue the franchise and helm another movie.

Speaking of The Best Man Holiday cast, Morris Chestnut is coming back to TV on the TNT drama Legends. You can also check him out on the latest issues of Muscle & Performance and Upscale magazines. Nia Long will be one of the stars of the Tyler Perry movie Single Moms' Club, which opens in theatres May 9th. Taye Diggs returns to TV in the TNT drama Murder In The First. Regina Hall has starring roles in About Last Night with Kevin Hart, which opens in theatres February 14th, and Think Like A Man II, which opens June 20th. Harold Perrineau and Terrence Howard team up with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Sabotage, which comes out April 14th. Finally, Sanaa Lathan will team up with Forest Whitaker and Anthony Mackie for the movie Repentance, which opens in theatres February 28th.


Shonda Rhimes, the writer/creator/producer of Scandal, Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy, is ready to tell all in a new book scheduled for release in 2015. Rhimes wants to talk about being a single mom while striving for professional success.

Haunted House II with Marlon Wayans opens in theatres March 28th 2014. The movie also stars Cedric The Entertainer and Jamie Pressley.

First Lady Michelle Obama is on the cover of Ladies Home Journal, and she talks about Christmas at The White House.

Brandy will team with Tyler Perry for a new TV sitcom being pitched to OWN, BET and TBS. Brandy last worked with the writer/producer/director/actor in Temptation: Confessions Of A
Marriage Counselor. In other Tyler news, he'll be joining Oscar Winner Ben Affleck in the movie Gone Girl. Perry will play a lawyer assisting Affleck. Filming starts next month. Meanwhile on December 13
th, get ready for Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas  starring Anna Marie Horsford (Amen) and Tika Sumpter (The Haves & Have Nots). Perry is also working on new DVD projects: Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned and Madea's Neighbors From Hell.

Kevin Owens, the former background singer for Luther Vandross, is writing a book about Vandross called So Amazing. Owens, who used to sing with the group Ray, Goodman & Brown, says his book will detail his 32 years on the road, Luther's hit songs and the late singer's devotion to his fans.

How hot is Actress Tika Sumpter? She has a lot of movies coming out over the next year including Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas, Ride Along with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube and the James Brown bio-pic Get On Up. Plus, there's her hit Tyler Perry TV drama The Have And Have Nots, which was renewed for a second season after breaking all kinds of ratings records on the OWN cable network. The Have And Have Nots return January 7th.

If you like the TV One music bio series Unsung, then get ready for Unsung: The Hollywood Edition. The documentary series spotlights our favorite entertainers. Actress Pam Grier, TV Superstar Flip Wilson and legendary Comedian Dick Gregory will kick off the series
beginning in 2014.

Don Cheadle will be starring in and directing the movie Kill The Trumpeter about the life of Jazz Great Miles Davis. Zoe Saldana and Ewan McGregor will also be starring in the movie.

Martin Lawrence is returning to TV next year on the FX network. Lawrence is teaming up with Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Frasier) for a sitcom about two lawyers.

Actor/Author Hill Harper is on a roll with his USA network show Covert Affairs, which airs Thursday nights at 10pm. Harper also has a new book out Letters For An Incarcerated Brother, and he has just signed on for the new Jennifer Lopez movie Boy Next Door. In that film, Lopez plays a woman who becomes involved with her neighbor's teenage son and realizes he’s crazy.

CNN News Anchor/Reporter Don Lemon is on the nightshift during the week. His new show debuted Monday. The 11th Hour With Don Lemon airs every night at 11pm.

The TV One network has renewed their hit show R&B Divas for a third season.

Mary J. Blige is on the latest issue of Shape magazine. At 42, she looks incredible. Blige says the key to her amazing body is giving up drugs and alcohol. She said she refuses to go out like Whitney Houston. Meanwhile, get ready for A Very Mary Christmas, Blige’s first holiday album. The CD will features 12 classic holiday remakes and duets with Barbara Streisand, The Clark Sisters and Marc Anthony. Grammy Award-winning Producer David Foster produced the project.

Singer Eric Benet is coming to reality TV. Benet will be the host of Sub Stars, which showcases underground musicians who are discovered in subway systems across major U.S. cities.

Season three of Mary Mary’s reality show will deal with infidelity, fighting with their manager and Erica's voice problems. The show returns to WE-TV on February 27th at

Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett have signed on for season four of American Horror Story. The TV drama has built up quite a fan base on the FX network.

Gabrielle Union's new BET drama Being Mary Jane with Omari Hardwick, Lisa Vidal, Margaret Avery, Tika Sumpter and Richard Roundtree debuts January 7th on BET. Check out Union on the latest issue of Essence magazine.

Babyface and Toni Braxton have returned to the top of the charts. Their hit duet single, Hurt You, is an R&B number one. Toni's last chart topper, Just Be A Man About It, was in 2000. Babyface last hit number one in 1997 with Every Time I Close My Eyes. The duo are headed to
Broadway next spring in the Wynton Marsalis production After Midnight. The musical is about the Harlem Renaissance and The Cotton Club and includes many top name musicians coming in and out of the production. This will be Babyface's Broadway debut. Toni Braxton has performed on Broadway before in Beauty & The Beast and Aida. Braxton and Babyface will be in the musical March 18-30

The Queen Latifah produced drama Single Ladies, starring LisaRaye,  Charity Shea and Denise Vasi, is returning to VH1 for a third season in January.

Denzel Washington is returning to Broadway in A Raisin In The Sun running March 8th
–June 15
2014 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre where the original play opened. A
Raisin In The Sun also stars Diahann Carroll and Anika Noni Rose, and is slated for a 14-week run.

Live Saturday Night is back with the Party Animals Mimi Brown and Cut Master Butter. The Saturday night live broadcast is happening from Ms. Tootsie's, 1312 South Street from 9 til' midnight.
