Congrats To Scandal Star Kerry Washington. She’s Pregnant! Washington is four months along. Last summer, she surprised a lot of people when it was revealed she was married to
Football Player Nnamdi Asomugha. Washington, who's on the cover of this month's Essence magazine, is 36, and Asomugha is 31. He used to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, but now he is with the San Francisco 49ers after signing a $28 million contract.
This will be their first child. Washington will still be hosting Saturday Night Live this week with musical guest Eminem.

We are getting ready for the movie The Best Man Holiday. The stars of the movie are on the cover of  the latest edition of Ebony Magazine. There is the ladies issue with Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Regina Hall, Monica Calhoun and Melissa De Sousa and the men's cover Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Terrence Howard, Harold Perrineau. They both look great I will be getting both issues. The movie Best Man Holiday Directed by Malcolm Lee opens in theatres November 15th.  Speaking of Morris Chestnut, he is coming back to TV on the TNT
drama Legends.

Pebbles is mad! The singer and former TLC manager was made to look like the villain in the TLC bio-pic Crazy Sexy Cool, which aired to great ratings on VH1. When Pebbles managed the trio, she made millions off The TLC brand, but the girls never saw the money. Peebles has
released a statement saying she and her lawyers are seeking a retraction from VH1 for scenes and statements that are false and defamatory. Other than the statement, Peebles has yet to speak publicly on any of this fallout, which has hit social media as well as TV and tabloids.

The First Lady is coming to TV's The Biggest Loser. Michelle Obama returns to the reality weight loss show to promote her new health campaign. She's encouraging everyone to drink more water as heath experts have long held people don't do enough of. The First Lady
first appeared on Loser back in April. Michelle Obama's new appearance is set for November. Singer Ruben Studdard will also be on the show but as a castmember. He now weighs 462 pounds, and his weight is a matter of health. Studdard will soon turn 35-years old and knows the future is bleak without serious weight loss. Since The Biggest Loser's season premiere, Studdard was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. When he last topped the scales at over 450 pounds, he exercised, became a vegan and that helped. But, when he couldn't keep the weight off, the one time American Idol champion began looking for a permanent solution of hard work and dedication. The Biggest Loser airs Tuesdays at 8pm NBC.

Former Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr, has reported to federal prison in North Carolina. He will be serving a two and a half year sentence for misusing campaign funds to the tune of $750,000. He allegedly spent the money on celebrity memorabilia, mounted elk heads, Rolex watches for girlfriends and fur capes. Jackson's wife Sandi is also headed to
jail. She pleaded guilty to filing a false joint federal income tax return, and she will serve her sentence of a year in jail after Jesse, Jr. finishes his. The couple have minor children and were allowed to serve their sentences separately. The Jacksons still have to pay $750,000 in fines, and published reports have them in the process selling their DC home as part of the deal.

Actor Michael Ealy (Think Like A Man, Barbershop)  is returning to TV in the cop-drama Almost Human. It premieres Sunday, November 17 and Monday, November 18th
on FOX. Ealy is also returning to the big screen next year in two projects with Comedian Kevin Hart: About Last Night on opening on Valentine's Day with Joy Bryant & Regina Hall and Think Like A Man Part II with Gabrielle Union & Taraji P. Henson hitting theatres next June.

Speaking of Kevin Hart. He's back with The Real Husbands Of Hollywood on BET. Hart is on a roll! He just signed a deal with ABC to develop a pilot based on his life as standup comedian and divorced father, and he has another  new movie for 2013, Ride Along with Ice Cube and Tika Sumpter, coming out in theatres in January. Finally Hart is also playing a boxing promoter in the new movie Grudge opening Christmas Day with Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone. De Niro (Oscar winner for Raging Bull) and Stallone (Oscar nominee for Rocky) play two aging boxers who get back in the ring.

Is love back in the air for Tina Knowles? Beyonce's mother showed up in New York to the Angel Ball with a familiar face, but it wasn't her ex-husband Matthew. They divorced after 31-years of marriage in a cheating scandal that saw Matthew's mistress give birth to a baby
boy. Matthew has since married another woman. Tina's not sitting on the shelf though. The 59-year old businesswoman took Actor Richard Lawson, 66, to the Angel Ball. Lawson, the father of Actress Bianca Lawson, is known for his movie and TV roles in All My Children,
Scream Blacula Scream, Dynasty, The Cosby Show and For Colored Girls.

Oscar Winner Octavia Spencer is coming to TV. Spencer will be starring in a reboot of the TV classic Murder She Wrote. Murder She Wrote aired from 1984 to 1996 and was a top ten hit for CBS most of those years. The new version will star Spencer and air on NBC. Spencer is also one of the stars of the James Brown bio movie Get On Up which is coming
out October 2014. Actor Chadwick Boseman, who recently starred as Jackie Robinson in the movie 42, will be playing The Godfather of Soul in the new movie.

25 years ago, it was a hit on the big screen. Now the Oscar-nominated film Do The Right Thing is headed to Broadway. Spike Lee, who produced, wrote and directed the film, will be in charge of the project. Lee is on a roll. He also directed Mike Tyson's one man show Undisputed Truth, which is coming to HBO later this year.

Babyface and Toni Braxton are headed to Broadway next spring in the Wynton
Marsalis production After Midnight. The musical is about the Harlem Renaissance and The Cotton Club and includes many top name musicians coming in and out of the production. After Midnight debuts on Broadway with Fantasia on November 3
rd. This will be Babyface's Broadway debut. Toni Braxton has performed on Broadway before in Beauty & The Beast and Aida. Braxton and Babyface will be in the musical March 18-30th for a limited run. Their new duet CD, Love Marriage & Divorce, is coming out in December. This week, Babyface got a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.  Toni Braxton is also writing her memoirs in Unbreak My Heart, which is coming out February 2014. Babyface and Toni Braxton's new CD, Love, Marriage & Divorce, comes out November 25th.

Keenen Ivory Wayans is developing a pilot TV show for the ABC network. Wayans will not star, but will write and produce. Wayans is looking to do a traditional sitcom for the network.

Stevie Wonder is planning to release two new music projects next year. The 63-year old Motown legend says his recent divorce from Designer Kai Millard Morris inspired him to do a new project. The album, When The World Began, will be produced by fellow Music Legend David Foster. Wonder is also working on a gospel album, which he plans to dedicate to his late mother.

Oscar Winner Morgan Freeman will be re-teaming with Angela Bassett in a sequel to the movie Olympus Has Fallen.

There's good news and bad news for Robin Thicke. The good news is the singer/songwriter will be directing and starring in a movie called Mercy with his wife Actress Paula Patton. The movie is about a family man dealing with his drug addicted wife. The bad news is two of Marvin Gaye's children, Nona and Frankie, are suing Thicke. They now say that Thicke and his collaborators definitely used Marvin Gaye's 1977 hit Got To Give It Up in Thicke's song Blurred Lines. The Gaye children also accuse their father's music publisher of not properly protecting the rights to their late dad's music. No word yet on whether Marvin, III will join his brother and sister in this suit. Thicke is currently touring the country, and he is set to go nationwide in February.

So what’s next for Dr. Conrad Murray? Murray walked out of prison a free man after serving a two-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. Sources close to Murray say he wants to write a book and get his medical license back. There
has also been talk of Murray starting a singing career in tribute to The King Of Pop.

Another day, another Michael Jackson Estate lawsuit. This time the suit is from Jackson's long time collaborator Quincy Jones. The ”Q” says the estate and Sony Entertainment reedited songs to cut him out of producer's fees and residuals. Jones also claims his work was used in the hit film This Is It, the documentary of what would have been
Jackson's final tour. Jones also says the songs Billie Jean, Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough and Thriller were purposely reedited without his permission. “Q” produced The King Of Pop's three mostsuccessful albums: Off The Wall, Bad and the all-time best seller,

The new season of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta kicks off Sunday, November 3rd. Singer Christopher Williams is the new addition to the cast.

The Queen Latifah produced drama Single Ladies, starring LisaRaye, Charity Shea and Denise Vasi, is returning to VH1 for a third season in January.

Denzel Washington's son, John David, is ready to follow in his father's footsteps. John David has signed on for the HBO pilot Ballers, and he'll play a football player. Young Washington played college football, and he did a short stint in the NFL with The Rams. John
David is no stranger to acting having appeared in Malcolm X with his famous dad.


Speaking of Denzel, he is returning to Broadway in A Raisin In The Sun running March 8th –June 15th 2014 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre where the original play opened. A Raisin In The Sun also stars Diahann Carroll and Anika Noni Rose, and is slated for a 14-week run.

Actress Jill Marie Jones (Girlfriends) is joining the cast of the FOX hit
drama Sleepy Hollow with Nicole Beharie.

Kem, Patti LaBelle and Ronald Isley are joining forces for a new holiday song called Jesus. The song appears on Kem's holiday CD What Christmas Means, which is out now.

Usher is the cover guy for the latest issue of Men's Health magazine. Usher looks fabulous showing off his look and hard training for his upcoming movie Hands Of Stone, which is the life story of Boxing Great Sugar Ray Leonard.

A public memorial is taking place this Saturday, November 2nd for Dr. Walter Lomax, Jr. at the Kimmel Center, Broad and Spruce. Among his many achievements, Dr. Lomax was a broadcaster as owner of radio station WURD-AM in Philadelphia, representing one of the few black-owned independent talk radio stations in the entire country. Dr. Lomax was a diverse figure in business with real estate and technology interests, and his medical practice which he used to focus on charitable work and healthcare those historically shutout from access. Dr. Lomax died from complications of a stroke at the age of 81.

The American Music Awards are set for Sunday, November 24th on ABC.

has a new book coming out on Tuesday about a legendary TV soul music/dance show. The popular drummer has written the book Soul Train: The Music, Dance and Style of A Generation. The book features rare never seen before seen photos and plenty of behind the scenes scoop.

Speaking of Soul Train, Singer Dionne Warwick is going to be the big honoree for The 2013 Soul Train Awards. Keith Sweat is also going to be honored. The show airs December 1st on BET and Centric and will feature performances by Kem, Chrisette Michelle, Ronald Isley, Eric Benet, Tamar Braxton and Smokey Robinson. Anthony Anderson is hosting.

Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King will be hosting Black Girls Rock Sunday, November 3rd on BET. Special honorees include Queen Latifah. Patti LaBelle and Tennis Sensation Venus Williams.

The TV One network is the new home of The NAACP Image Awards. The show will make its TV One premiere in February.

Actor Carl Payne is the new National Ringmaster for the Universoul Circus. Payne is best known as Martin Lawrence's best friend “Cole” in the 90’s sitcom Martin, and as “Cockroach” for three seasons on the 80's hit The Cosby Show.

Chris Tucker is hosting The 2013 Marian Anderson Awards at the Kimmel Center. The event, saluting Motown Founder Berry Gordy, is happening Tuesday, November 19th.
Boyz II Men, Kool & The Gang and Smokey Robinson are performing. Philadelphia International Records Founders Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, who were once songwriters at Motown, are doing tributes. Tyler Perry will be joining Oscar Winner Ben Affleck in the movie Gone Girl. Perry will play a lawyer assisting Affleck. Filming starts next month. Meanwhile on December 13th, get ready for Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas  starring Anna Marie Horsford (Amen) and Tika Sumpter (The Haves & Have Nots). Perry is also working on new DVD projects: Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned and Madea's Neighbors From Hell.


Get ready for A Very Mary Christmas. Mary J. Blige’s first holiday album. The CD will features 12 classic holiday remakes and duets with Barbara Streisand, The Clark Sisters and Marc Anthony. Grammy Award-winning Producer David Foster produced the project.

Live Saturday Night is back with the Party Animals Mimi Brown and Cut Master Butter. The Saturday night broadcast is happening from Ms. Tootsie's, 1312 South Street from 9 til' midnight.
