There was a time when people dying of AIDS were shunned and isolated from friends and even family. MANNA was founded in 1990 by seven members of the First Presbyterian Church in Philadephia with the mission of comforting people dying of AIDS at a time when there was a lot of stigma and ignorance about the disease. MANNA not only provided meals to help these folks get through dark days but also provided emotional support and love. In 2006, MANNA expanded its outreach to neighbors with other critical illnesses – cancer, renal and cardiac disease and diabetes. Here's how we can help.
MANNA celebrates the 22nd annual performance of Shut Up & Dance, a one-night-only benefit presented by dancers of Pennsylvania Ballet, featuring original pieces choreographed and performed by the dancers. Presented by Zurich North America, this unique and exciting performance on Saturday, March 22nd at 8:00PM at The Forrest Theatre, with Principal Dancer, Ian Hussey, returning as Producing Director. Tickets for the show are available for $25, $50, $75 or $100, and entrance to the exclusive pre-party is $100 and includes food and drink.
