Lee Louis Daniels is a film and television producer and director. Daniels produced Monster’s Ball, which made him the first African-American to solely produce an Academy Award-nominated film. He also directed Precious, which received Academy Award nominations, including Best Director and was the creative force behind the hit TV series, Empire, starring Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard. 

Daniels’ project...The United States of America vs Billie Holiday, is streaming now on Amazon Prime, and stars Andra Day, who was the recipient of multiple industry awards for her portrayal of the lead character.  

In 2021, Daniels received a lifetime achievement award in Philadelphia from Philadanco, while his last project, a horror movie entitled, ‘The Reading’, starred Monique and aired on BET+. He will join forces with Andra Day again in 2024 for the forthcoming exorcism thriller, The Deliverance, that will air on Netflix.
