For many years, Serena William’s has been mocked and even been called manly due to her muscular physique. Well the cover of GQ is in hot water with Twitter & IG.
In the their title: they crossed out “Man of the year” and crossed out man out of the title and replaced it with the word woman.
The controversy begins: in recent issues honoring women of other races as the “woman of the year” they did not do the same to the title. So why is this issue any different ? Many speculate, due to the historical reasons of her physicalities, people are beginning to believe that this issue of GQ has some bias’ toward a black female athlete. GQ has issued a statement that can be seen below.
