On Saturday August 19, 2017, Lois Fernandez, founder of the ODUNDE Festival was laid to rest in a joyful celebration at Universal Audenreid attended by a standing room only crowd of family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers. Her daughter Oshunbumi Fernandez reflected on her mother’s powerful legacy as creator of the largest African American street festival in the nation and a passionate community advocate.
